New Poll: America Opposes Obama-Clinton Foreign Policy

A new Fox News poll released yesterday shows only 1 in 3 Americans approve of President Obama’s handling of foreign policy, not good news for his former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who has been in lock step with him on a number of issues polled.

According to the poll, a majority of Americans think Obama is “not ready to do whatever it takes to defeat Islamic extremists.” Nonetheless, in a June 2014 interview Clinton voiced support for Obama’s tepid response to ISIS, even as the group was advancing rapidly across Iraq and Syria. Since then,  Clinton has praised Obama’s ISIS strategy.

Obama’s numbers on his handling of Guantanamo Bay prison are flagging as well, with 54 percent saying he has exceeded his authority in transferring detainees out of Guantanamo. Clinton defended Obama’s decision to release 5 high-level Taliban detainees in the Bowe Bergdahl swap, and has advocated for the closure of the prison by circumventing Congress, even though doing so might send terrorists back into the battlefield.

After four years as Obama’s Secretary of State, it is no surprise that Clinton’s foreign policy mimics that of her unpopular former boss.
