New Hampshire Democrats and grassroots activists have made it clear they want more debates than the skeletal six the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is allowing – a debate schedule that’s been characterized by numerous Democrats as an attempt to ensure Hillary Clinton’s path to the nomination.
When DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz attempted to address the New Hampshire Democratic Convention on Saturday, her remarks were drowned out by Granite State voters demanding more presidential debates:
One of Clinton’s top surrogates in New Hampshire, Governor Maggie Hassan, sided with the Clinton campaign over her own constituents in an interview with WMUR’s Josh McElveen on Sunday, stating she thinks the DNC should “listen very, very closely to the campaigns” – not New Hampshire voters – on the debate issue:
When pressed by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer last week, Clinton repeatedly declined to call for more debates. Around the same time one of Clinton’s primary rivals, Martin O’Malley, said he believes the DNC would add more debates if Clinton asked for them.
