Nevada Democrat And Failed Candidate Thinks She Would Make A Good Governor

Democrat Lucy Flores, who is running for Nevada’s 4th Congressional district, shared her political ambitions during a speech at The George Washington University Latino Heritage Celebration last night. When a student asked what the future held for her, Flores suggested she could see herself as Governor of Nevada or even President of the United States.

It’s a particularly ironic comment from the candidate, considering her political track record. In 2014, Flores was crushed in her campaign for Lieutenant Governor, losing by a whopping 26 points. Her loss was so abysmal that Harry Reid, who had backed her in the LG race, declined to support her Congressional bid. Flores may fancy herself a future Governor, but history suggests we shouldn’t expect much more from her than a primary loss followed by a slow fade to obscurity.
