Hillary Clinton Supporter Ed Rendell: Campaign Needs To “Get Their Act Together”

On Wednesday, Andrea Mitchell interviewed former Pennsylvania governor and current Hillary Clinton backer Ed Rendell on Clinton’s emails. Mitchell gave Rendell the chance to walk back his recent criticism of the Clinton campaign in The New York Times, in which he called their handling of the email scandal atrocious.

Rendell didn’t take the bait:

ANDREA MITCHELL: Here you are, the Hillary Clinton strong supporter, and you say they have handled the email issue poorly, maybe atrociously, certainly horribly. The campaign has been incredibly tone-deaf not seeing this as a more serious issue. Explain.

ED RENDELL: Well, and I meant that. And I meant that and it was my way of hopefully getting a message to the campaign. They didn’t do a good job of handling the issue.

Rendell, who’s chairing U.S. Senate hopeful Katie McGinty’s campaign in Pennsylvania, slammed the campaign’s response to the controversy again, adding: “they should get their act together.”
