Yesterday, The Washington Post reported that Mark MacDougall, the attorney for former Clinton staffer Bryan Pagliano, sent a letter to House Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy indicating that Pagliano would assert his Fifth Amendment right, avoiding his planned testimony before the Select Committee on September 10, 2015.
Pagliano is a former IT staffer to Clinton’s 2008 campaign and worked for her at the State Department. Pagliano also helped set up Clinton’s infamous private server and managed it during Clinton’s tenure at the State Department. MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough suggested Pagliano would plead the fifth for criminal reasons rather than political.
On The Today Show, NBC’s Kristen Welker reported on the news as “Yet another blow to the Clinton campaign.”
