In three critical battleground states, Hillary Clinton is seen as not honest and trustworthy. A new poll, released this morning by Quinnipiac University, shows Clinton is viewed skeptically by a majority of voters in Colorado, Iowa, and Virginia.
Colorado voters say 62 – 34 percent that Hillary Clinton is not honest and trustworthy

Hillary Clinton is not honest and trustworthy, Virginia voters say 55 – 39 percent.
That’s bad news for Clinton, who faces the same problem in the other critical swing states of Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, where voters have repeatedly reported the same feelings about Clinton’s trustworthiness.
On the issue of favorability—whether voters view Clinton in a positive or negative light—the news is just as bad for Clinton. Voters in all three states view Clinton negatively:
Clinton gets markedly negative favorability ratings in each state, 35 – 56 percent in Colorado, 33 – 56 percent in Iowa and 41 – 50 percent in Virginia.
On the issue of leadership:
“She has lost ground in the horse race and on key questions about her honesty and leadership,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, in a release accompanying Wednesday morning’s results. “On being a strong leader, a key metric in presidential campaigns, she has dropped four to 10 points depending on the state and she is barely above 50% in each of the three states.”
What’s causing these terrible numbers? It’s likely a combination of Clinton’s decades of scandals, dodging questions during the rare interviews she permits, and a lack of proven results or vision for moving our country forward.
Perhaps worst for Clinton are the results when asked if she cares about voters and their problems:
In Colorado, voters say “57 – 39 percent that she does not care about their needs and problems.”
In Iowa, “she does not care about their needs and problems, voters say 55 – 39 percent.”
And in Virginia, “she does not care about their needs and problems, voters say 50 – 45 percent.”
Quinnipiac pollster Tim Malloy summed Clinton’s numbers up this way:
“Hillary Clinton’s numbers on honesty and trust may border on abysmal …” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. “Do Colorado voters trust Hillary? No, they do not. Do they think she cares about their needs? No they do not.”
