Competitive Democratic Primary Heats Up In Illinois

As America Rising has noted before, a contentious Democratic primary in Illinois’ 10th Congressional district is starting to heat up as both contenders released their latest fundraising numbers.

Former Congressman Brad Schneider raised a little over $620,000 and reported $482,000 cash on hand, while Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering pulled in more than $300,000 and had $660,000 cash on hand. Though Schneider outraised Rotering in the latest fundraising quarter, Rotering is unabashed about loaning her campaign the necessary funds to defeat Schneider. All told, she has contributed $200,000 to her campaign so far.

This high stakes, high dollar primary will only spell trouble for the Democrats as they vie for votes in the expensive Chicago media market.
