Maggie Hassan’s Veto Threat Shows Her Extreme Partisanship

Governor Maggie Hassan would like Granite Staters to think that she works well across the aisle, but her state budget veto threat exposes her rigid partisanship and ideological agenda.

Hassan has vowed to veto the state budget despite the fact that social service advocates have said that the budget is “the best budget we’ve seen in years” and that their needs may get “lost in the political fray that results from a veto.”

New Hampshire reporters noted Hassan’s veto threat has been “a departure from her traditional approach of portraying herself as bipartisan.”

While Hassan has previously called government gridlock “unconscionable,” “reckless,” and “unnecessary,” this veto threat clearly highlights that Hassan puts her partisan feelings ahead of the interests of the people of New Hampshire.
