Bustos Babbles On Trade

Illinois Democrat Cheri Bustos is having trouble finding a coherent position on fast-track authority and the Trans-Pacific Partnership. She blasted previous trade deals for hurting Illinois, but then refused to take a clear stance on the current deal only saying, “That’s why – as I stand here – I can’t tell you if I’m going to vote yes or if I’m going to vote, no because I don’t know what’s in the deal.”

In the past, Bustos has had no trouble criticizing free trade deals and even signed a letter saying she would oppose fast-track authority for free trade agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Hopefully her constituents get a clear answer from her sooner rather than later.
