Today, Hillary Clinton will make a campaign stop at Kirkwood Community College, where she will hold a roundtable with students and educators. The event may be designed to help Clinton gloss over her widely criticized reliance on six-figure speaking fees from public universities while students across the country continue to face skyrocketing tuition costs. Ahead of one of her paid speeches at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, leaders of the school’s student government even said her speaking fee was “outrageous” and asked Clinton to return the money.
