Clinton Inc.: A $2.5B Endeavor

Hillary Clinton launched her presidential campaign on Sunday with a video focused on what she calls “everyday Americans.” Clinton, who is reportedly worth $55 million, doesn’t exactly fit that bill herself.

And her campaign, along with outside groups, will raise and spend more money than any candidate in American history: $2.5 billion, according to the New York Times.

Those groups include Ready For Hillary, American Bridge, Priorities USA, Emily’s List, and others.

For a bit of perspective, consider this: in 2012, President Obama’s reelection campaign spent a mere $1.1 billion–the most expensive campaign in history to that point. Clinton’s $2.5 billion campaign will raise and spend more than the GDP of at least 28 countries across the world.
