Homeland IG: DHS Intervention In McAuliffe/Clinton Company Politically Motivated

The House Homeland Security Committee held a hearing this morning during which the Homeland Security Department’s Inspector General, John Roth, confirmed that Alejandro Mayorkas’ intervention, via administrative appeal, on behalf of a company with political ties to Hillary Clinton and top Democrats to receive EB5 funding was “unprecedented.”

At another point, the Inspector General was asked about special access given by Mayorkas to McAuliffe. The IG confirmed there was “an appearance of special access” given to McAuliffe.

As a follow up, the IG was asked if Mayorkas’ actions toward Hillary Clinton’s brother, Anthony Rodham, were perceived as “politically motivated,” which he confirmed.
