Once upon a time, Florida Congressman Patrick Murphy decried money in politics, calling it “absolutely gross”—the most mature description he could muster.
And yet suddenly, Murphy, who is reportedly eying a statewide bid for Senate, doesn’t think money is so bad. In fact, fellow Florida Dem Ted Deutch called for a “Fundraising-Free February,” but Murphy has refused to participate.
WPEC in Palm Beach reports that Murphy brings in nearly $6,000 per day—not exactly the behavior of someone who still thinks money in politics is “absolutely gross.”
