Rick Nolan has been tweeting in support of Obama’s new Cuba policy, but it’s not the first time he’s praised the Communist nation and its dictator.
In 1977, Nolan visited Cuba and praised the oppressive dictator Fidel Castro for the “great progress” in Cuban life, calling it nothing short of “dramatic.”
Nolan struck up such a great friendship that Castro even invited him back to Cuba for a deep-sea fishing excursion. Nolan later bragged, “We were told that Castro doesn’t extend these invitations unless he really means it.”
Maybe Nolan can now finally be reunited with his kindred spirit who is responsible for so many human rights violations.
