Mike Bloomberg’s Lackluster Election Night

Like deja-vu all over again, soda-snatching Former NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg gave millions of dollars and high profile endorsements to dozens of candidates up and down the ballot, but in the end came up short-handed.

Bloomberg’s millions to Harry Reid’s Senate Majority PAC and his group Everytown were no saving grace for Democrats as their majority disappeared overnight. And an additional Bloomberg-infusion of $350,000 to Michelle Nunn’s super PAC wasn’t even enough to stir up a runoff in Georgia.

Things didn’t improve for Bloomberg’s gun-control agenda on the House side either. Voters elected the (real) NRA-endorsed candidate in Arkansas, French Hill and Bloomberg saw losses in Iowa, Nevada, New Jersey, and Ohio.

As if being defeated at the federal level wasn’t enough, Democrat Anthony Brown was upset in the Maryland gubernatorial election. Bloomberg invested $500,000 in ads there and attacked the NRA’s endorsement of Governor-Elect Larry Hogan.

At the end of last night, Mayor Mike’s millions proved to be a middling-at-best investment that voters rejected across the country.
