Louisiana Democrat Mary Landrieu announced she fired her campaign manager yesterday. Her campaign tried to brush off the news with a “she always does this!” excuse, but comments from her staff indicate an unease with campaign manager Adam Sullivan:
Aides didn’t say why Sullivan is being replaced, other than to say she’s bringing in people she’s comfortable with and has relied on for previous campaigns.
Was Sullivan to blame for the thousands in taxpayer dollars spent on private charter flights to Landrieu fundraisers? Or for Landrieu voting with President Obama 95% of the time? Seems unlikely, but with Sullivan told to “Get out!” we may never know. What we do know, however, is that with a little more than 3 weeks to go, the Landrieu campaign is in panic mode.
