Last week, Politico reported that Kay Hagan voted for the stimulus, and then her husband’s company received $390,000 in federal grants. During that time, his income jumped by more than $130,000.
This morning, The Daily Caller reported that Hagan’s son, Tilden, also got stimulus money for installing solar panels for a company owned by John Hagan, Kay Hagan’s brother-in-law, on a building owned by Chip Hagan, Kay Hagan’s husband.
The Hagans might be on to something here. When you own all of the businesses in a federal grant deal, it basically guarantees the money stays in the family.
