Today at a candidate forum in Miami, Florida Democrat Joe Garcia was asked about the crisis at the Veterans Affairs administration. Garcia, who has been in Congress for nearly 2 years, said that the systemic problems at the VA “had nothing to do with me, it happened before I got there.”
Garcia did nothing to address the VA backlog until it became a national issue and is willing to pass the buck on our veterans.
His opponent, Republican Carlos Curbelo, offered a refreshing take: I will not make any excuses for the administrators at the VA or for the Obama administration.”
