Passports for Terrorists OK, says Iowa Democrat

Iowa Democrat Staci Appel said that if elected, she would not vote to revoke the passports of Americans who have joined terrorist organizations at a Congressional debate on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“I would not be urging taking away their passports. I think we need to make sure that we work through the system and look through it on a very diligent basis.”

U.S. officials believe about a dozen Americans are fighting alongside ISIS militants currently, and earlier this summer, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel called ISIS an imminent threat to the United States.
