Congressman Mike Capuano (D-MA) didn’t sound too thrilled about Martha Coakley’s likely nomination. He told reporters:
“I think she’s been a great attorney general and I think if she gets elected, she would be a good governor. But it doesn’t mean I think she’s the best candidate.”
When asked if he would back the Democrat nominee he said, “I can’t imagine I wouldn’t.”
But then he went on to praise her Republican opponent, Charlie Baker (who is already leading Coakley in the polls):
“I think you’re getting into a nuanced debate after the primary, and that’s going to be difficult for a lot of people to make a decision on.” And he continued, “I like Charlie Baker a lot.”
It doesn’t sound like the MA-Dems are ready to sing with Coakley.
