Alaska Democrat Mark Begich voted for a second time yesterday to allow President Obama to take executive action on immigration. Yesterday’s vote would have allowed a vote on an amendment to stop the President from bypassing Congress and granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.
Politico reporter Manu Raju noted that Begich “saved the day” for Democrats:
Politics of immigration forces Shaheen, Hagan, Landrieu, Pryor and Manchin to side with Cruz and Sessions. Begich saved the day for Ds.

Begich said his reasoning for voting for amnesty was because “not a single GOP senator approached him to seek his vote.” So in case it’s not clear, instead of voting for what’s right, Begich insists his colleagues kiss his ring to curry favor for his vote.
