Wendy Davis either doesn’t know the rules, or just doesn’t care.
Less than 24 hours before campaign finance reports were due in the Texas Governor’s race, Davis inflated her amount raised by nearly $300,000. Much like her version of her background, it was all made up.

To make matters worse, The Texas Tribune notes that even that number is inflated because it “contains over half a million dollars in non-cash ‘in-kind’ donations and counts contributions that could benefit other Democratic candidates.” One of those in-kinds is a $250,000 contribution from country legend Willie Nelson for a private concert he performed for Davis’ campaign.
