Mary Landrieu is railing against Obama’s new EPA rules on carbon emissions in an effort to portray herself as a Senator who will stand up to anti-energy Democrats. Louisiana voters shouldn’t be fooled.
While Landrieu tells Louisianans she’s fighting for the energy industry and the thousands of jobs it brings to the state, she is supporting Democrats who are actively pursuing policies like cap and trade that would hurt those very same jobs. Landrieu’s PAC gave nearly $300,000 to 31 different Senate Democrats who voted for the Lieberman-Warner cap and trade bill.
That should come as no surprise from the Senator who votes with Obama 97 percent of the time and would “absolutely” back Harry Reid as leader of Senate Democrats next year.
