Michelle Nunn is running for U.S. Senate in Georgia.
1. Nunn Supports ObamaCare But Dodges Questions On The Law
Despite all the setbacks, difficulties, and cancellations surrounding ObamaCare, Nunn has made it clear that she opposes repealing ObamaCare and supports moving forward implementing the law.
However, Nunn is trying to mask her support for ObamaCare from Georgia’s voters. When asked if she would have voted for the law, Nunn consistently dodges and refuses to answer the question with the skill of a “practiced politician.” Her exposed campaign plan even shows she considered not taking a stance on Obamacare.
2. Nunn Supports Raising Taxes
Even though many Georgians are still struggling to survive in a sluggish economy, Nunn thinks that raising taxes should be “on the table.”
3. Nunn Laid-Off Employees While Her Own Compensation Doubled
From 2007 to 2010, Nunn led her charity organization through a merger that reduced staff from 175 to 80 employees at the combined organization.
As Nunn’s staff was being cut in half, her own pay doubled from $120,000 to $250,000. In 2011, after the merger was completed, Nunn received $322,056 in total compensation.
This is the same charity Michelle Nunn used in her ads which exaggerated her experience there.
4. Nunn Has Always Been A Loyal Democrat
President Obama said if Michelle Nunn wins, Democrats win the Senate and advance his agenda.
During a Democrat primary debate, Nunn said that it was “self-evident” that she was a Democrat and that she has spent her entire life as a Democrat. She is also very close with Harry Reid.
In addition, according to Georgia’s Secretary of State office, Nunn has exclusively voted in Democrat primaries from 1992 to 2012.
She is also using President George H.W. Bush’s image in her ads, and he has repeatedly asked her to stop, reminding her he does not support her.
5. Michelle Nunn’s Campaign Plan Stereotypes People By Race And Religion
It stereotypes Jews as a “financial opportunity” and Asians as “very tight.” Yet her position on Israel is still “TBD.”
6. Michelle Nunn Has A Lot Of Other Ethical Problems
She fundraised with a convicted felon, said she’s above debating the issues, and won’t release details about the EEOC discrimination investigation on her.
7. Nunn Paid A 13.2 Percent Tax Rate While Criticizing Tax Dodgers
In July 2014, Nunn only released the first two pages of her last five years of tax returns. The returns revealed that, in 2013, Nunn and her husband only paid an effective tax rate of 13.6 percent, and, in 2010, she paid an even lower tax rate of 13.2 percent.
Nunn is the same candidate whose campaign website criticizes “those who can afford high-priced accountants to get away without paying their fair share.”
