Earlier this week, Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) went out of her way during a Committee on Foreign Relations hearing to point out that Boko Haram, the militant Islamist group in Nigeria that kidnapped more than 200 girls, has nothing to do with Islam.
JACKSON: “The message that all the Muslim leaders who have spoken out, whether religious leaders or political leaders have passed is that this is not about Islam, and I think that’s a very important point. Boko Haram’s philosophy is not an Islamic philosophy.”
SHAHEEN: “I agree and I’m glad that you made that point. Clearly, we need to make sure that Islam is not confused with some of these horrible terrorist acts that have been and continue to be perpetrated by terrorists groups.”
Not only did Jeanne Shaheen not do anything in the past to push the Obama Administration that she supports wholeheartedly to designate Boko Haram a terrorist group, but now she is saying that the militant Islamist group Boko Haram has nothing to do with Islam.
