UPDATE: WGCL released video of Nunn’s fifth ObamaCare dodge and noted: “she has never given a yes or no answer.” Michelle Nunn has had a rough week. She’s admitted that she supports ObamaCare, but she still can’t seem to say how she would have voted on the law if she had been in Congress when it was passed. Wednesday morning, Nunn dodged “multiple questions about how she would have voted if given the chance.” Nunn merely claimed that she wasn’t in Congress time.
But Nunn still refused to say how she would have voted on the Affordable Care Act, a question that has plagued her in recent weeks leading up to Tuesday’s primary in which she scored an easy victory. Speaking at the Majestic Diner on Ponce de Leon Wednesday with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Nunn said her focus is on improving President Barack Obama’s landmark healthcare reform. Still, she sidestepped multiple questions about how she would have voted if given the chance. “I wasn’t there five years ago,” she said of the vote, noting she was then leading the nonprofit Points of Light. “What I can address right now is what we should do with the law and how we should carry it forward.”
Let’s recap Nunn’s four other dodges on how she would have voted on ObamaCare:
1. On Monday, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” aired an interview where Nunn refused to say if she would have voted for ObamaCare, noting, “it’s impossible to look back retrospectively.”
2. While seeking to clarify her “terrible answer” to The Associated Press, Nunn’s spokesman still refused to say how Nunn would have voted on ObamaCare.
3. In a Politico interview, Nunn “refused to say whether she would have voted for Obamacare, would back Harry Reid as majority leader or even whether she thinks President Barack Obama is doing a good job.”
