A New Jersey Democrat was caught using a racial slur on a Belleville, NJ councilman’s answering machine. A forensic lab confirmed the voice on the message is that of Marie Strumolo Burke, a Belleville councilwoman and mayoral candidate.
Burke can be heard in the background of a call, the topic of which was the town’s tax rates, yelling, “This is terrible. This is terrible. This is gonna be a n***** town!”
Belleville Mayor Raymond Kimble plans to call for Burke’s resignation.
