In March, California Democrat Leland Yee – a gun control proponent – was indicted for arms trafficking and public corruption. Lee tried brokering an arms deal that included purchasing shoulder-fired missiles from Islamic rebels in the Philippines. Just everyday, up-by-your-bootstraps stuff.
The deal was supposed to make Yee, a state senator and candidate for secretary of state, $2 million to help him retire campaign debt. Instead, he’s facing corruption, racketeering, and arms trafficking charges. Unreal.
