Rep. Kyrsten Sinema is a Congresswoman running for re-election in Arizona’s 9th district.
1. Sinema Said That Women Who Stay At Home Are “Leeching Off Their Husbands Or Boyfriends”
In a 2006 interview, Sinema said “These women who act like staying at home, leeching off their husbands or boyfriends, and just cashing the checks (think that) is some sort of feminism because they’re choosing to live that life.”
2. Sinema Said That She Would ‘Greatly Increase” Income Tax For Those Making Over $75,000 A Year As Well As Capital Gains and Corporate Taxes
In a 2006 Project Vote Smart survey, Sinema said that she would “greatly increase” taxes on those making over $75,000 a year. She also gave the same response for capital gains and corporate taxes.
3. Sinema Has Referred To Herself As A Prada Socialist
In a 2006 interview, Sinema referred to herself as a “Prada Socialist” when asked about her fashion style, adding that people can still believe in fairness and justice “and still have fabulous accessories.”
4. Sinema Votes With The Democratic Party 80% Of The Time
Sinema currently votes with the Democratic party 80 percent of the time and with Nancy Pelosi 70 percent of the time. Sinema also voted for Pelosi for Speaker of the House.
