American Crossroads Launches New 1600 Fund Initiative

New website will focus on all American Crossroads activity in the 2012 presidential campaign, providing one place for activists, donors and journalists to learn about efforts.

WASHINGTON – American Crossroads today announced the launch of a new initiative and website, The 1600 Fund (www.1600Fund.com) where activists, donors and journalists can learn about all American Crossroads efforts specifically pertaining to the 2012 presidential election. The website will feature all American Crossroads advertisements, web videos and grassroots networking information focused on its 2012 presidential campaign efforts.

The site will also feature a section, The Obama Files, which will include key research on the presidential campaign generated by the American Crossroads research and communications departments, and aggregate publicly available research from other sites in both print and video formats. With a variety of center-right groups involved in the presidential election, American Crossroads expects the site to be a useful tool to provide access to a variety of research information – including Crossroads research – that groups will be able to utilize.

“With such a large proportion of our 2012 efforts aimed at the presidential election, The 1600 Fund will be a new portal for activists, donors and journalists to who want to learn about Crossroads activity in the presidential contest, from research to TV ads to online donations for our efforts,” said Steven Law, president and CEO of American Crossroads. “A great challenge in modern campaigning is aggregating the nearly infinite amount of research and information that is publicly available into one site, and the American Crossroads 1600 Fund initiative aims to do exactly that.”

American Crossroads expects to play a major role in the 2012 presidential election. Most recently, the group has aired television ads in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania and Missouri countering President Obama’s visits there.
