Day 2: Elizabeth Warren Continues to Refuse Wall Street Bankrolling through Democrat Senate Committee

Senior Democrat Strategist Guy Cecil is Professor Warren’s Wall Street Bagman

WASHINGTON – As Professor Warren continues to refuse to reject support from the Wall Street-backed Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), American Crossroads again called on Warren to publicly ask the DSCC to stop helping her campaign.

Last week, Politico reported about the efforts of Guy Cecil, the DSCC’s senior political operative, to use funds raised from Wall Street to clear the field for Warren’s candidacy:

“Cecil returned to Washington, transferred thousands of dollars to the state party for research and commissioned a poll to identify the most viable candidate. When the results showed that person was consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren, the concerted courtship by Murray, Sen. Chuck Schumer and Majority Leader Harry Reid began.” (“DSCC now playing kingmaker,” Politico, 12/08/11)

Since 2005, the DSCC has collected more than $40 million in contributions from Wall Street, the banking and financial services industries – more than any other industry including labor unions and trial lawyers

“Far left Professor Warren’s continued silence about the Democratic Party’s Wall Street cash bankrolling her campaign is abject hypocrisy,” said American Crossroads president Steven Law.  “If Professor Warren had any integrity, she would immediately ask the DSCC to stop helping her campaign with the funds the committee bagged on Wall Street.”
