American Crossroads Launches TV Ad to Counter Obama’s Colorado Visit

Crossroads counters President Obama’s campaign for a second stimulus plan

WASHINGTON – American Crossroads today announced the release of a TV ad in Colorado as part of its continuing campaign to aggressively counter President Obama’s efforts to sell his second stimulus plan at state and local events.

With the president set to visit Colorado to promote his newest stimulus proposal, the American Crossroads TV ad, “Don’t“, started Tuesday and will run through Wednesday in the Denver market for a total buy of $50,000.

The ad, which features former President Bill Clinton decrying new tax increases in his own words, follows recent efforts in Missouri, Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina to counter Obama’s campaign for his second round of stimulus. “President Obama’s latest stimulus package faces bipartisan opposition because it is nearly identical to his first failed stimulus which wasted $830 billion as unemployment continued to rise,” said American Crossroads director of state and regional media relations Nate Hodson.  “Obama continues to campaign for failed policies, and his latest Band-Aid is an unserious answer to serious problems.”

When Obama sold his first stimulus bill in 2009, he projected its passage would bring the unemployment rate down to 6.5 percent by the fall of 2011 – yet the current rate in Colorado is 8.3 percent.
